What carers say

Foster Carer

"The goals and philosophies of the Foundation are right on track. I am 100% behind the children being read to. We feel that our Angel is part of the family. She is top dollar. The fact that is gives me an hour a week is fantastic. I can go to my room and read my own book. It enables the children to build trust with another adult, when this trust has been broken in the past. There are many positives aspects to this program on lots of different levels."

Main strengths

"It is a very non-intrusive form of support. Our goal is to make the children’s life as normal as possible and this really helps. The Angel becomes a family friend, so there fore it is fantastic support. My children came to me and their Pyjama Angel was already a part of their life, she had already been reading to them for 12 months, so this was very valuable to the boys. The PA has introduced a broad range of books, many of the children classics these will be fantastic childhood memories."

‘This time each week gives me some personal space. The children meet their ladies at the door and they all adore their Pyjama Angels. I can’t speak highly enough of the volunteers who have come to read. There is very little else out there in regards to support’.
