Q. What is your favorite childhood book and why?
A. Anything by Paul Jennings, easy to read, great suspense from memory...
Q. Who read books aloud to you as a child, i.e. Mum, Dad, school teacher?
A. Dad before bed each night if I could stop him from counting sheep! teachers always in my primary school years
Q. What book are you reading now?
A. Imagine This by Julia Beard. its about her childhood with her brother, beatles singer John Lennon.
Q. Favorite place to read a book?
A. Probably on a plane as there are not many other distractions. Can't read in bed, i fall asleep in less than 5 minutes.
Q. Why do you think it is important to read books aloud to kids?
A. I think its develops the imagination of a child as opposed to television which creates this for them. They also learn how words sound aloud.
Q. What is your favorite food, as a kid?
A. Mums chilli con carne. still hasn't been rivaled.
Q. What is your favorite sport?
A. Aside from rugby, probably soccer I am a massive Liverpool fan.
Q. What do you think are the long term benefits of reading?
A. No doubt reading develops the vocabulary, which in turn helps people communicate to each other in many different situations. Reading is required in all areas of life bar none.
Q. Name a book you secretly like, but never admitted you’ve read?
A. I am a bit of a closet fantasy/sci-fi fan. My sisters have been into me to read the Harry Potter series so i will probably give in and read those before long.
Q. Do you still have books from your childhood?? which ones??
A. I still have a lot of books that I have kept and will hopefully be able to pass onto my family down the track. Particular favourites are the Roald Dahl books, I have a signed copy of the book 'BOY' which is about his own childhood. All of his novels are classics.
Q. What books to you like to read to your children?
A. I think any book with a good story and which are relevant to everyday
life.
